Elementry School

I spent an hour today sorting construction paper in a kindergarden class. I sat at a very little table with very, very little chairs. I can't imagine my butt ever being small enough to have fit into one of those comfortably!

Condoms

A couple of days ago Josephus and I had a conversation on our viewpoints about abstanace being taught in schools as well as contraceptives. We both agreed that both should be taught so that kids know all of the options available. We also both agree that teaching abstinance only is not a well thought out plan, because it is blind of the people who believe this to think that some children will never experiment given the opportunity. Oddly enough when I picked up the school newspaper today there was a condom attached to it and the headline of the paper read: 'Wrap it up' Students argue for comprehensive sexual education. Although it doesn't really address abstinance it does argue for the idea of having sex ed being taught so that more and more people are informed of the effects of unprotected sex. I just found this a little interesting.

By the way I have no idea how I did on the test I just took!!

Tests....Tests....Tests

I'm about to take my first test of the semester. It's in Marketing.I think I am going to fail!

You want to know what true insanity is... I am working two jobs, going to school fulltime and now I have to start logging community service hours every week with the group our company chose in IBC! Our choice to give our sweat charity to is Washington Elementry. I think it will be do-able. I just have to manage my time well, and stop sleeping at night. :0) Just Kidding.

IBC

Intergrated Business Core is the class I am taking this semester in school. It is actually four classes all put together into one program. We start off the year by being seperated into two companies, then we select officers and from there try to create a product. My company has narrowed our product choices down to two. An OU laptop sleeve and an OU wall decour. So far all of this has been pretty easy. However I have to say one of the hardest parts was choosing a group to do community service with and a charity to give any of our profits to. The way this worked is we went into a room in the student union and they had tables set up and as small groups we went to each table and listened to the charities explain who they are and what they do for the community. They were all such good causes that it was really hard to pick! I mean how do you decide whether to give blood, help the homeless, help kids in various capacities and circumstances or work with terminally ill children? Luckily no one person had to make the choice on their own!

I found today on the edge of a magazine a quote that I really like.

"You can't reason with your heart; it has its own laws, and thumps about things which the intellect scorns."-Mark Twain
