Last weekend

I went last weekend to see Phantom of the Opera. My favortie musical having been made into a movie was a must see! You see I Love music. I always have!My affection for it grew ever deeper through the passing years by my experience with it in Jr. High and High School. It is a medium that has always been able to elicit emotions deep within me both high and low. It wakes emotions in me that so many things in life rarely do. I am sure that is why I took it so personally, when one of my friends, who went to see the movie with me, proceeded to exclaim his dismay for the movie completely. I for one thought that it was not a bad movie. But I found it annoying that after his self proclaimed hate for musicals was voiced the day before, that he felt the need to come with us. I said as much to him. As we walked back to our cars and he was voicing how he thought the movie was on the level of a bad Disney movie, I said disdainly in a monotoned voice, "You knew you didn't like musicals. You didn't have to come." Needless to say that one statement pretty much finished any conversation for the rest of the night. Most of the time I concede that no matter what my feelings, people are not the same and are intitled to what they think. Sometimes it is even fun to sit and probe the whys and wherefores of those feelings. But why would you subject yourself to something you hate and then turn around and try to make everyone else feel like you. That I think is what I find annoying.
