Life in So Many Ways!

For those of you who don't know I was in a wreck last Thur. Short version is it was raining a lot, ALOT, and a guy slammed on his brakes in front of me and I tried to stop also but ended up hydroplanning into the car next to me!!! $4,000 worth of damage to my baby, and I am stuck in a Ford Focus for a week. I HATE Focuses!!!! By the way I am not injured...

In Accounting News: I got a B! An 87!! Not great but hey not bad either. It could have gone a lot worse. I am pretty sure where I missed the points at too. So overall happy with the grade.

Work News: We start training our Christmas hires today. I kind of like training because I can sluff of all of the customers that I don't want onto the newbies. However, I do hate answering the same question over and over again. When 10 people ask you the same question eventually someone on the back end of the question asking process is going to get my really short, I'm tired of answering this and you are all starting to get on my last nerve, answer. Oh well...

Family News: I found out that everyone is supposed to get a formal invite for the Howard and Becky wedding. I will keep you updated as I learn more.

Okay due to some lovely people I know I have gotten back results of a very indepth background check. It seems that Howard is no more than a low life that hasn't paid his child support.
Other results:
Speeding and Parking Tickets (Most definitely)
Tax Evasion (Maybe)
Axe Murderer (Probably Not)- Not ruling this one out
Con-Artist who preys on the needy (I think we all know the answer to that one!)

Anyway nothing cool, nothing scary, nothing we didn't already know. I guess that is one form of relief.

Accounting test #1 done. Human resource management test #1 to go. Then I have two more tests next week!!!!

I honestly think that my accounting test went okay. I am not sure how this next test will go...He said that there will be 3 short answer on top of the multiple choice. However his version of short answer includes writing 1 and a half to two pages... I hope there isn't a lot of multiple choice, 'cause it is only a 50 minute class. And he gave us absolutely no clues as to what the short answer questions might be on. I think I am worrying a little too much...I need to relax and convince myself it will all be okay...

Portraits no-more?

PCA the company that runs the Wal-Mart portrait studios has declared bankruptcy! Actually as they put it the have negotiated with their lenders and come to an agreement about a Chapter 11 restructuring plan. They are so positive about this that they have left a pre-recorded message for all PCA employees to access so that they can learn about the companies plans for the future. It is a very positive message for a not so good outlook. If anyone wants to listen to the recording here is the number. 1-877-208-4046 You'll never feel better about chapter 11!
Enjoy....

This is crazy!

I'm Caligula!
Which Historical Lunatic Are You?
From the fecund loins of Rum and Monkey.

You are Gaius Caesar Germanicus - better known as Caligula!

Third Emperor of Rome and ruler of one of the most powerful empires of all time, your common name means "little boots". Although you only reigned for four years, brief even by Roman standards, you still managed to garner a reputation as a cruel, extravagant and downright insane despot. Your father died in suspicious circumstances, you were not the intended heir, and one of your first acts as Emperor was to force the suicide of your father-in-law. Your sister Drusilla died that same year; faced with allegations that your relationship with her had been incestuous, you responded, bafflingly, by declaring her a god.

You revived a number of unpopular traditions, including auctions of properties left over from public shows. When a senator fell asleep at one such auction, you took each of his nods as bids, selling him 13 gladiators for a vast sum. You attempted to have your horse, Incitatus, made into a consul and hence one of the most powerful figures in Rome. It was granted a marble stable with jewels and a staff of servants. At one point you forced your comrade Macro to kill himself - in much the same vein as your father-in-law - accusing him of being his wife's pimp. You, of course, were having an affair with said wife at the time.

Things went from bad to worse. When supplies of condemned men ran short in the circus, you had innocent spectators dragged into the arena with the lions to fill their place. You claimed mastery of the sea by walking across a three-mile bridge of boats in the Bay of Naples; kissed the necks of your lovers, whispering sweet nothings like "This lovely neck will be chopped as soon as I say so,"; dallied with your sister's lover and made her pull her unborn child out of her womb prematurely. Towards the end of your reign, you had a golden statue of yourself made and dressed each day in the same clothes you yourself wore. When you eventually died, the terrified people of Rome refused to believe that such a cruel reign could ever end, and believed you to be alive for years afterwards.

Woo-Hoo

OK so the accounting quiz didn't go so well, but my finance quiz, which I thought I probably got a C on, I actually got an A on!!!! Just a little jazzed about that. There were only 12 questions, and I thought I did poorly because I had to guess on a couple of the questions! But I got an A.

On another note...I have been doing kickboxing workouts with a friend of mine on Mon, Wed, and Fri. I don't think that I have lost any weight yet but I feel a little more in shape. Although this week I am really tired and sore. But maybe that is due to the fact that I haven't slept much this week and that I spent two hours working on the lawn yesterday after I got off of work! But on a happier note I can now jog longer than I used to and I can deliver pretty hard kicks to the knees and the chest. Ninjas in the night beware!! :)
